From as far back as I can remember I loved the different tastes and aromas of tea. In fact, I have always liked all kind of teas – from black to green tea, herbal infusions and fruit teas.
These days, I drink an average of 4-6 cups per day. It keeps me hydrated, plus it is free of calories, fat, sodium, carbonation and sugar. Tea also contains flavonoids, a naturally occurring compound that has antioxidant properties.
But it was my partner’s chronic kidney condition that inspired me to search out and refine a tea to aid and maintain his kidney health.
I felt certain there had to be tea that would help and after much research of having studied different herbs and its benefits I developed my first kidney tea. Initially it was an ‘acquired taste’ shall we say but eventually I created a herbal infusion that tasted good as well as providing a kidney cleanse.
This experience with kidney tea inspired me to test and develop a variety of other herbal teas, which in turn has been the inspiration for Tea Cleanse. With previously having run a food company it was clear to me that is what I wanted to do, and Tea Cleanse was born.
I believe tea and herbal infusions (tisanes) should be part of everyone’s diet and when used correctly it can improve the quality of life and health for many.
Today my partner’s kidney condition is stable – actually the GFR has improved a little. Now let’s be clear, we are not suggesting that taking kidney tea was responsible for the improvement, but it along with a better diet and regular exercise has meant an increased quality of life!
For thousands of years Tea was an alternative medicine, used to treat colds, stomach problems, skin conditions and constipation. You may think that if you have tried one tea, you have tried them all, but that is not the case.
Whether you prefer black, green, oolong, red tea or herbals – your cabinet is not complete without loose leaf tea.
Quality whole leaf always gets the full flavour from any tea or infusion, so that is exactly why I only offer loose leaf. It is fragrant, fresh, long lasting and tastes better.
My teas and herbal infusions are made using a wide range of health benefiting plants, flowers, roots, bark and seeds – ethically sourced from leading botanical producers worldwide.
The ingredients have been used in herbal medicine for centuries – a heritage I am proud to continue.
Most importantly, all the ingredients are 100% natural – no artificial flavourings, colouring or preservatives are used.
Teas are delicious and beneficial, with many different healing qualities – just add boiling water!
